The C-MAN station at Rincon del San Jose recorded a wind gust just above 36 knots, with winds above gale force continuing for perhaps about a half hour, from a band of thunderstorms during the early evening of March 27th.

Wider weather episode

A strong upper level disturbance combined with a stationary front to produce periods of strong to severe thunderstorms on land that pushed across the Lower Texas Gulf and Laguna Madre waters during the morning of March 27th and again during the late evening of the same day and post-midnight hours of the 28th.
