Event narrative

A swath of wind damage, estimated at 70-80 mph, produced considerable tree damage across southern Lawrence County. Trees were down across roads and many power lines were blown down, especially in the Jayess and Topeka communities.

Wider weather episode

A round of severe weather impacted a portion of the south and southeast areas with swaths of wind damage, some significant, as a supercell storm tracked across the area late during the evening of the 8th. Additional storms developed during the morning hours of the 9th and produced hail.
