Hail in Bledsoe County, Tennessee
Hail April 10, 2025 · Bledsoe County, Tennessee
Where the report was made, with tornadoes recorded within 15 miles over the years.
The wider storm
A mid to upper level trough combined with unusually low freezing heights, steep lapse rates, and enough CAPE to generate numerous reports of large hail during severe afternoon thunderstorms. Many reports, especially from the Knoxville metro, indicated the hail was a weird soft slush upon impact, with textures closer to graupel stones embedded in a snow mix, not a true ringed hailstone.
Began near Lees Station (35.5900, -85.2900).
