Drought — Schuylkill, Pennsylvania

2025-05-01 to 2025-05-20 · Schuylkill, Pennsylvania

Event narrative

Severe (D2) drought continued for much of Schuylkill County until the U.S. Drought Monitor update on May 20, 2025, when all remaining D2 conditions were removed.

Wider weather episode

Severe (D2) drought persisted into early May across portions of southeastern Pennsylvania. However, an anomalously wet May 2025 (the wettest May on record at Harrisburg, PA) allowed conditions to improve dramatically as the month progressed. By the end of May, all of the D2 conditions had been removed from Pennsylvania.
