Drought in Northumberland, Pennsylvania

Drought May 1, 2025 – May 13, 2025 · Northumberland, Pennsylvania

What the National Weather Service wrote

Severe (D2) drought continued for much of Northumberland County until the U.S. Drought Monitor update on May 13, 2025, when all remaining D2 conditions were removed.

The wider storm

Severe (D2) drought persisted into early May across portions of southeastern Pennsylvania. However, an anomalously wet May 2025 (the wettest May on record at Harrisburg, PA) allowed conditions to improve dramatically as the month progressed. By the end of May, all of the D2 conditions had been removed from Pennsylvania.
