A potent upper-level disturbance, together with a northward-tracking surface low from the Mid-Atlantic region brought light to moderate snowfall to northwest Connecticut from late April 11 through early afternoon April 12. The heaviest snowfall was concentrated in the higher elevation areas of northern Litchfield County. Accumulations of one half inch to 4 inches were common throughout Litchfield County. As this occurred over a weekend, little impact to travel occurred, though slippery road conditions did occur.
