Severe (D2) drought conditions persisted across roughly the southwestern third of Knox county in April. The cooperative observers at Verdel 6SSE and Orchard 9NNE recorded 1.89 and 1.29 inches of precipitation for the month, respectively. These values were 1.18 and 1.64 inches below average.
