Severe (D2) drought conditions persisted across the southern half of Rock County through the end of April. Over the northern half of the county severe (D2) drought conditions, improved to moderate (D1) drought by the end of the month.

Wider weather episode

Drought conditions improved across the central and northern Sandhills in April. Drought also improved some in the eastern Nebraska Panhandle by the end of the month. Over Garfield and Wheeler Counties, drought conditions deteriorated one category in April.
