Severe (D2) drought conditions persisted across the eastern third of Boyd County through the end of April. Over the remainder of the county, severe (D2) drought conditions improved to moderate (D1) drought by the end of the month.

The wider storm

Drought conditions improved across the central and northern Sandhills in April. Drought also improved some in the eastern Nebraska Panhandle by the end of the month. Over Garfield and Wheeler Counties, drought conditions deteriorated one category in April.
