Severe (D2) drought conditions persisted across all of Blaine County through the end of April. The cooperative observer at Purdum reported 2.56 inches of precipitation for April.

Wider weather episode

Drought conditions improved across the central and northern Sandhills in April. Drought also improved some in the eastern Nebraska Panhandle by the end of the month. Over Garfield and Wheeler Counties, drought conditions deteriorated one category in April.
