Severe (D2) drought conditions persisted over far eastern and northeastern portions of McPherson County through the end of April. Over the remainder of the county, moderate (D1) drought conditions continued through the end of April.

Wider weather episode

Drought conditions improved across the central and northern Sandhills in April. Drought also improved some in the eastern Nebraska Panhandle by the end of the month. Over Garfield and Wheeler Counties, drought conditions deteriorated one category in April.
