Carteret-Craven Electric COOP reported approximately 133 power outages between Emerald Isle and Cape Carteret, with most of the outages on Emerald Isle. The reported time of the outages coincided with the wind signature on radar.

Wider weather episode

A shortwave trough swung through Eastern NC during the afternoon hours. A batch of showers and thunderstorms moved quickly northeastward, with one particular storm becoming severe and producing wind damage along the coast.
