A cold front tracked across the waters of Eastern North Carolina bringing widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms to the inland and coastal waters. A few isolated thunderstorms became strong in nature impacting portions of the Pamlico Sound on the morning of the twenty-eighth. Strong wind gusts were the primary hazard within the strongest storms.
