Official snow observer for the Houghton Lake area reported a storm total of 7.2inches. Additional reports of 7 inches in the Roscommon and St. Helen areas within the county.

Deepening low pressure moving up the Ohio Valley, combined with mid-level forcing and a strong jet aloft, resulted in snowfall accumulations of 5-8 inches, generally south of the M-72 corridor on the 8th.
