Multiple broadcast media reported that an unresponsive male was rescued and given CPR at North Miami Beach, within the vicinity of the 8800 block of Collins Avenue. The individual was brought immediately to a hospital and passed away on April 21st. At the time of the rescue, rough surf and dangerous rip currents were ongoing along the coast.
The wider storm
Under the influence of a dominant high pressure system over the Atlantic Ocean, there was strong easterly flow along the South Florida east coast. This lead to ongoing rough surf and dangerous rip currents along the Miami-Dade County coast on April 20th.
