A buoy about two-miles NNE of Sandusky recorded a peak straight-line convective wind gust of 39-mph from a slightly outflow-dominant line of showers and thunderstorms.
Wider weather episode
A cold front swept southeastward across the Lake Erie region during the late afternoon of October 1st through early morning of the 2nd. Along the front, a line of multicell showers and thunderstorms persisted generally eastward and produced several peak straight-line convective wind gusts of gale-force along and near the shore of western and central Lake Erie in OH. The pre-storm environment in the warm and moist sector consisted of moderate effective bulk shear and DCAPE, respectively, and weak MUCAPE.
