The US Drought Monitor indicated severe/extreme drought conditions across San Saba County during the month of April.

Wider weather episode

There was moderate to extreme drought conditions mainly along and south of I-20 during the month of April. The extreme drought conditions were mainly across the portions of the Northern Edwards Plateau, Northwest Hill Country and the Heartland. Drought conditions did improve toward the end of the month due to rainfall across much of the area.
