Event narrative

Ranchers in the upper Hamakua and lower Ka'u slopes of the Big Island have continued to report poor pasture conditions. Some of the ranchers have reported using supplemental feed and hauling water for their cattle. Additionally, a water conservation notice was in in effect for the South Kohala District of the Big Island.

Below average rainfall led to continuing severe to extreme drought conditions over portions of the Big Island, particularly the upslope and southeast locations.
