Relayed images showing light roof damage to a home, trees blown down and a metal barn destroyed. Event time is estimated from radar observations and a severe wind gust from the nearby Holdenville Mesonet.

Wider weather episode

An intense thunderstorm moved from western-north Texas into southern and east-central Oklahoma during the early hours of the 5th. While the boundary layer was relatively stable during this time, due to a significant warm layer centered around 700 millibars/1 km, widespread and intense damaging winds were observed with this thunderstorm. Reports of large hail, and associated damage due to wind-driven hail, were also received.
