Wider weather episode
An approaching upper system instigated scattered thunderstorm development during the late evening of the 18th. This development was most prominent along/near a quasi-stationary boundary, stretched along the Interstate 44 corridor during this time. Strong wind shear and instability promoted the development of a few organized thunderstorms, which produced large hail and caused wind damage.
