One tree was blown down near the intersection of Rueben Hart Rd and Grassy Creek Virgilina Rd.

Wider weather episode

An area of low pressure tracked into the Great Lakes, pushing a cold front into the Tennessee Valley region. A surface lee trough was also in place over the western part of North Carolina. Storms developed over the lower Ohio Valley and tracked along the North Carolina and Virginia border in the early evening hours. Storms became severe with several damaging wind reports over the northeast Piedmont and northern Coastal Plain of central North Carolina.
