A CoCoRaHS observer reported large hail which caused damage to siding of a residence along Duckridge Drive.
Wider weather episode
A weak surface front was along the eastern edge of central North Carolina. Showers developed over the eastern Piedmont in the morning hours and progressed east into the Triangle and Coastal Plain by the late afternoon and early evening. Several damaging wind and hail reports were observed.
