A tree was down in the road blocking travel near Old North Carolina Highway 13 and Old Cox Road.
Wider weather episode
Several clusters of thunderstorms developed over the higher terrain and evolved into a larger storm complex as it moved east into the southwestern Piedmont and Sandhills during the evening hours. The storm complex produced a swath of wind damage from Randolph to Moore County, with scattered sub-severe hail reported as well.
