What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

A National Weather Service survey found a brief EF-0 tornado touched down in far southeastern Greene County. Damage included broken branches and damage to a few outbuildings. Sheet metal and debris were displaced to the east in a field near the intersection of East Farm Road 186 and South Farm Road 203. Maximum wind speeds of 70 mph.

The wider storm

Slow moving storms produced heavy rainfall across portions of the Ozarks causing flooding of multiple low water areas. The initial storms that develop the evening of the 18th were able to take advantage at limited shear and instability to produce a brief EF0 tornado and localized wind damage.

Began near Mentor (37.1057, -93.1790).
