What the National Weather Service wrote
An National Weather Service survey found that an EF-1 tornado began at 9:00 AM near Highway 60 between Verona and Aurora and ended in eastern Aurora just east of Highway 60. The tornado had a path length of 4.88 miles, a width of 100 yards, and maximum wind speeds of 90 mph. The tornado damaged the roof of a church, caused minor damage to several other structures, and uprooted many large trees.

A cluster of severe thunderstorms moved through southwest Missouri on the morning of April 29th, 2025. Widespread wind damage and several tornadoes occurred. Significant wind damage with over 50,000 power outages occurred in Springfield alone. Numerous trees, powerlines and structures sustained damage from this system. A 90 mph wind gust was measured at the Springfield Branson National Airport.
