Wind gust was measured on a personal weather station in the Pamlico Sound at the Hatteras Ferry Terminal as thunderstorms moved through the area. Report came in via WeatherFlow.

Wider weather episode

A cold front pushed east across the the Triad into the Coastal Plain and eventually off the Eastern North Carolina Coast during the overnight and early morning hours of May 19th and 20th. Along this frontal boundary a line of rain and thunderstorms developed and pushed east eventually pushing off the coast and impacting the eastern North Carolina Coastal Waters during the early morning hours on the 20th. A few isolated storms within this line became strong to severe in nature bringing damaging wind gusts to portions of the Pamlico Sound and Coastal waters between Oregon Inlet and Duck.
