A personal weather station recorded a wind gust of 65 mph. The same station again recorded 65 mph a few minutes later.
Wider weather episode
A combination of a mid-level front and an upper-level shortwave provided the lift needed to generate a line of storms. Given plenty of moisture, a line of storms were able to develop and strengthen. Once reaching the center of the CWA, a large enough cold pool developed to create a bowing segment with higher winds resulting in severe wind reports and damage.
