Event narrative

A video was received of extensive tree damage in Tofte Park including several large trees that were uprooted or snapped. Per the Tofte Town Board Supervisor, approximately two-thirds of the trees in Tofte Park, around 40, were lost and two of the trees fell onto the Tofte Town Hall.

Wider weather episode

An area of low pressure in western Minnesota brought severe storms to the Northland the afternoon and evening of the 15th. Most of the damage was to trees across the region with some areas of enhanced tree damage occurring along the North Shore in the Tofte area.
