Two large trees were down at the spotter's home. The spotter also recorded a gust of 74 mph during the storm from a personal weather station.

Wider weather episode

An area of low pressure in western Minnesota brought severe storms to the Northland the afternoon and evening of the 15th. Most of the damage was to trees across the region with some areas of enhanced tree damage occurring along the North Shore in the Tofte area.
