The 31 Fluvanna 3W West Texas Mesonet station recorded a 59 mph wind gust, as well as a 58 mph wind gust a few minutes before.

Wider weather episode

A passing shortwave interacting with a dryline resulted in scattered thunderstorm development over the central and eastern Permian Basin and Trans-Pecos region of West Texas during the afternoon of May 24th. These thunderstorms produced damaging winds/microbursts and quarter size hail before they moved to the northeast of the area overnight.
