Weather observer at the Petersburg Airport had 5 inches of snow by 1pm on the 30th and noted 2 inches from the day before. Periods of heavy snow continued through the evening of the 30th, but was swept away by the wind, making it difficult to measure.
Wider weather episode
Low pressure set up off the coast of Yakutat causing bands of snow showers to train over the region. This made for a long duration event with some locations seeing equally long breaks between the snow showers. Warning level rates were observed during the bands of snow and observers added them together.
