Snyder FD reported a broken power pole and flattened hay in a field near FM 1611 north of Snyder. This was likely the result of a microburst. The time of occurrence is estimated by radar. The wind speed is estimated by the extent of the damage reported, and the cost of the damage is also estimated.

Wider weather episode

A passing shortwave interacting with a dryline resulted in scattered thunderstorm development over the central and eastern Permian Basin and Trans-Pecos region of West Texas during the afternoon of May 24th. These thunderstorms produced damaging winds/microbursts and quarter size hail before they moved to the northeast of the area overnight.
