Wider weather episode
An upper jet maximum set in over our region as a trough dug down over the western US. Good synoptic support gave us breezy winds and moderate to heavy snowfall over and near the mountains. Soon thereafter, a cold front pushed south across the eastern plains of southern Colorado, with upsloping resulting in periods of enhanced snowfall for some of the lower elevations as well.
