Wider weather episode

A closed upper low drifted northeast through the Ohio Valley, and a shortwave rotated through the main upper low, and provided enough upper level support for a few thunderstorms during the afternoon. A few storms developed from low level surface convergence along a weak stalled boundary. Forecast soundings showed favorable parameters for hail, which was observed in Botetourt County, Virginia.
