Thunderstorm winds downed a tree on Quick Road.

A mid to upper level low continued moving into the central Appalachians, though weakening as it moved eastward. Although SBCAPE increased to the 1000-2000 J/kg by the afternoon, bulk shear was only around 20 knots, so coverage of strong to severe storms was limited to the Piedmont. Some of the storms became strong enough to produce some wind damage in Caswell County, North Carolina.
