Event narrative

Snow began on the afternoon of the 21st and continued through the morning of the 22nd. Going-to-the-Sun Road was closed due to hazardous driving conditions going over Logan Pass during this period. New snowfall was estimated at 10 inches at Logan Pass, with accumulation reported as low as the Big Bend area around 4,300 feet. The top of Big Mountain Ski Area reported about 4 inches of new snow, which disrupted outdoor activities.

Snow fell on the backside of a closed low, impacting higher elevations of Glacier National Park and surrounding areas.
