The Lakefront ASOS KNEW measured a thunderstorm wind gust of 44 mph or 38 knots.
The wider storm
A weak cold front moved through the local area on May 3rd. Marginal shear combined with sufficient instability resulted in a few severe thunderstorms along the coastal areas, including one waterspout.
