Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport and Akron-Canton Regional Airport both reported 59 MPH wind gusts, at 843 PM and 952 PM respectively. Some downed trees and power-lines were reported across the area.
The wider storm
As strong low pressure tracked out of the Ohio Valley, across western Ohio and into the Great Lakes, a strong cold front moved east across the area the evening of December 29th. Strong winds occurred behind this cold front, with some sites measuring wind gusts of 58 MPH or stronger and some downed trees and power-lines reported.
