Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport reported a 59 MPH wind gust at 843 PM. Some downed trees and power-lines were reported across the area with power outages into the thousands across the county.

Wider weather episode

As strong low pressure tracked out of the Ohio Valley, across western Ohio and into the Great Lakes, a strong cold front moved east across the area the evening of December 29th. Strong winds occurred behind this cold front, with some sites measuring wind gusts of 58 MPH or stronger and some downed trees and power-lines reported.
