The combination of a couple potent, upper-level disturbances and a pre-frontal surface trough inflicted scattered severe thunderstorms across western Massachusetts in the evening hours of Saturday, May 17. Several reports of tree and power line damage were relayed to NWS Albany, which led to the temporary closures of several roadways.
