A few trees and power lines were downed across southern Shelby County, including CR 47, Old Mill Creek Dr, and Hiawatha Rd.

Wider weather episode

Westward moving thunderstorms developed across Central Alabama during the afternoon of July 4. As storms neared the I-65 corridor, a couple briefly intensified. A downburst in the Shelby area of southern Shelby County resulted in downed trees and lines, while up to nickel-size hail was produced in the Prattville area.
