Isolated to scattered showers and storms developed over the western and southern portions of central North Carolina in the late afternoon and early evening. A more widespread cluster of storms developed over the southern Piedmont and tracked into the Triangle and Coastal Plain. These storms produced isolated wind damage in Montgomery and Richmond counties.
