The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department reported that an 18 wheeler was overturned on Interstate 20 in Terrell.

The wider storm

A Northern Plains low pressure system, a northeast-to-southwest oriented stationary front across North Texas, and shortwave trough traversing the Texas Panhandle were all contributing factors to the development of widespread severe weather May 16 and 17. A highly unstable environment led to many instances of large hail and damaging winds.

Began near Terrell Wallace Arpt (32.7700, -96.3100).
