Scattered showers and storms formed ahead of a slow-moving cold front during the early morning hours of May 9. These showers and storms produced gusty winds across the Maryland coastal waters and the James River. Additionally, an isolated storm formed across far southeast Virginia during the afternoon. This storm produced gusty winds as it moved over the Virginia coastal waters.
