Wind gust was measured at the North River XNRVr WeatherFlow Station along the North River as thunderstorms moved through the area.

As the far outer bands of tropical storm Chantal began to overspread portions of Eastern North Carolina, several rounds of isolated to widely scattered shower and thunderstorm activity impacted the region during the afternoon hours of July sixth. A few isolated storms became strong in nature bringing a threat for strong wind gusts to portions of the Crystal Coast.
