Quarter-sized hail piled up on the ground about two inches deep.
Wider weather episode
Slightly elevated thunderstorms developed in the warm advection region, which featured steep mid-level lapse rates along an advancing inverted surface trough from Nebraska into southeast South Dakota during the afternoon and early evening. The strongest isolated storms produced hail up to quarter size.
