The Coastal Ocean Research and Monitoring Program (CORMP) Charleston Pilot buoy measured a 35 knot wind gust.
Wider weather episode
Multiple rounds of thunderstorms impacted the Atlantic coastal waters and adjacent coastline with strong wind gusts. The storms developed along a subtle stationary boundary with one round in the early morning hours followed by another round in the afternoon.
