The National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS) site on the south end of Sapelo Island measured a 38 knot wind gust.

Multiple rounds of thunderstorms impacted the Atlantic coastal waters and adjacent coastline with strong wind gusts. The storms developed along a subtle stationary boundary with one round in the early morning hours followed by another round in the afternoon.
