Event narrative

A thunderstorm produced wind gusts estimated at 60 mph that knocked down some 2.5-3 inch diameter tree limbs near Lake Dunlap.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms developed along a cold front that moved into South-Central Texas from the north. The airmass in the warm sector was unstable, with strong vertical wind shear and steep mid-level lapse rates. This combination led to storms poducing large hail and damaging wind gusts.
