Event narrative
Numerous photos and videos from social media feeds that showed flooded homes and roadways in Alpha area of west Hamblen county. Some homes in the Seven Oaks subdivision had a foot of water in their basements, with similar impacts to nearby subdivisions off of Murrell Road.
Wider weather episode
Scattered showers and thunderstorms moved through middle and eastern Tennessee during the afternoon of June 6th, ahead of a developing surface low over far western Tennessee and the Missouri Bootheel region. These storms produced some marginally severe hail, damaging winds, and some isolated flooding as well.
